Act

The painterly work of Claus Laemmle can be described as a kind of field research aimed at expansion, the integration of new experiences and the initiation of thought processes. In almost square formats of the same size, spontaneity is set against order, painting is presented as a process as a duality of emotion and severity. The painter's consideration in action is the spatial layering of the colors, their precisely defined order in the colored environment. The use of color is controlled in spontaneity and relaxed in severity, but always of great sensual beauty. As in the early years, more recent works again pursue an overall design, spatial approach. The authors Annia Schulz and Dagmar Glück write about his work: “Defined by the interplay of light, form, material and space”.
