The defender was under contract with Jeunesse Esch from 2005 to 2014 . In August 2007 he was seriously injured in a league game and was out for most of the 2007/08 season. For the 2014/15 season he moved to league competitor F91 Dudelange . Here he won the championship four times, the cup three times and the league cup twice.

On May 27, 2019 it was announced that De Sousa will switch back to Jeunesse Esch after five years with the F91 .
