The Cle Elum Lake is a natural lake formed by the Cle Elum Dam will continue dammed. The earth dam was built as part of the Yakima project by the Bureau of Reclamation for artificial irrigation from 1931 to 1933 and is located 13 km northwest of the city of Cle Elum .
