Clear Channel (frequency plan)
In the USA in particular, the clear channel is a communication channel on which only one transmitter operates.
Regulations
The US Federal Communications Commission manages the frequencies in the USA in coordination with the ITU and coordinates the occupancy with neighboring countries. Due to the propagation conditions of this frequency band, strong stations can be heard over a large distance on medium wave . A number of stations are licensed on Clear Channels ; d. that is, they transmit from other stations without any interfrequency.
Clear Channel Station
The “Clear Channel Stations” have become a household name in the USA. These are currently around 30 stations in North America , i.e. the USA, Canada and Mexico, which exclusively occupy a medium wave frequency and transmit there with great power. The FCC guarantees the US Clear Channel stations protection against interference within a radius of 750 miles .
