The Cleff'sche Mühle (also "Mühle Warndtstraße" or "Kornmühle" ) is a former mill in the Wuppertal district of Unterbarmen . The property at Warndtstrasse 7 as a mill building with a residential building including the historical furnishings and the mill moat on the Wupper has been protected as a monument since September 1, 1989 .

From 1843 to 1846 (according to another source: 1839–1840) the miller Johann Peter Jakob Busch built a fruit or grain mill on the Brögel site . Yarns were bleached on the meadows here until the 1830s. An undershot bucket wheel was used by the twine bleachers, this was located in an existing mill ditch. This goes back to a mill that was first mentioned in 1682.

In 1846 it passed into the possession of Ferdinand Cleff, who until then had operated a brandy distillery. Since then the mill has been called Cleff'sche Mühle . The attached three-story residential building was built around 1875. Grain was milled until the 1920s, after which the building was used for various commercial purposes. The water wheel system was still functional until 1933 . But it was no longer used because the Wupper weir had been removed. Attempts to put the plant back into operation in 1945/47 failed.

The dilapidated building was acquired by the city of Wuppertal in 1987 and reopened as the “Kornmühle” restaurant in 1997 after three years of restoration work .
