Clemens August Schlueter

Clemens August Schlüter (born July 3, 1835 in Coesfeld , † December 25, 1906 in Bonn ) was a geologist and paleontologist .

The son of a Privy Councilor of Justice, after initially working in the mining industry in Essen , studied natural sciences in Berlin and Breslau from 1859 . After an archaeological study tour, he became a private lecturer in 1864, an associate professor in 1873 and a full professor of geology and palaeontology in Bonn in 1882. In addition to scientific work, he also published poems.

In 1888 he became a member of the Leopoldina .
