Clementia Egies

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clemency "Menta" Egies (* the 30th June 1911 , † after 1943) was a German film actress of the era of National Socialism .

Live and act

De facto, nothing is known about the origin and artistic career of Menta Egies. Since she is listed in the registers of the Deutsche Bühnen-Jahrbücher (without stating permanent engagements), she has also played theater, for example in 1934 in the theater in Behrenstrasse by Ralph Arthur Roberts . She can be identified as a film actress from 1935. Until the end of the war in 1945, the blonde artist worked in a series of films in which she was given predominantly supporting roles. This includes lively, comedic entertainment such as thirteen chairs with Hans Moser and Heinz Rühmann, as well as Nazi propaganda from the type U-Boats westwards! and The Roedern affair , where Egies played the wife of the title hero in the female lead. Clementia “Menta” Egies disappeared completely from the public eye shortly before the end of the war - her last film was only released in 1950 as a defector - so that she could possibly have died as early as 1944 due to the war.
