Clementine Skorpil

Clementine Skorpil (born December 19, 1964 in Graz ) is an Austrian writer.

Life

After finishing school in her hometown, Skorpil began to study Sinology and History at the University of Vienna . She completed the necessary semesters abroad in Taipei . Parallel to her studies, she began working as a translator for Chinese companies in Vienna at an early age. Her thesis, Long Sleep - Who Could Avoid It, deals with the motif of death in Chinese poetry of the 17th century.

After successfully completing her studies, Skorpil got a job as a publishing editor at the non-fiction book publisher Holzhausen; there she was u. a. responsible for public relations .

From 2001 Skorpil worked as a freelance editor and in 2004 took over the Lower Austria department in response to the magazine if-information for women . From 2008 she also took over an editorial position at the daily newspaper Die Presse . With her first crime novel , she also became a member of the Syndicate writers' association .

Clementine Skorpil is married and currently (2014) lives with her husband and two children in Neulengbach (Lower Austria).
