Coordinates: 33 ° 42 ′  S , 136 ° 30 ′  E The District Council of Cleve is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 4,507 km² and has around 1750 inhabitants (2016).

Cleve is located on the Eyre Peninsula on the Spencer Gulf and is about 150 miles as the crow flies from the metropolis of Adelaide . The area includes 19 districts and localities: Arno Bay, Boonerdo, Boothby, Campoona, Caralue, Cleve, Darke, Darke Peak, Jamieson, Kielpa, Mann, Murlong, Pascoe, Roberts, Rudall, Smeaton, Verran, Wharminda and Yadnarie. The administrative headquarters of the council is in the town of Cleve in the east of the LGA, where about 800 inhabitants live (2016).

The Cleve Council has eight members, the seven councilors, and the chairman and mayor of the council are elected by the residents of the LGA. Cleve is not divided into districts.
