Clickimin Loch , also Loch of Clickimin, is a lake ( loch ) in the east of Mainland , the main island of the Shetlands . It is located between the island's capital Lerwick in the northeast and the town of Sound in the southwest. In the north-west it is towered over by the 128-meter-high South Staney Hill , to the south-east it is separated by a narrow isthmus with the A970 that runs there from Brei Wick , a bay in Bressay Sound . The remains of the Broch of Clickhimin , a Bronze Age structure, lie on a former island in the south of the lake .
