The Pavlov peak is approximately 850 m high mountain on Liège Iceland in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises north of Mount Vesalius .
The mountain is first recorded on an Argentine map from 1954. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the Russian physician and physiologist Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849-1936), who discovered the principle of classical conditioning in behavioral research .
