Clinton Robert Avery (born December 3, 1987 in Rotorua ) is a retired New Zealand cyclist .

Athletic career

Clinton Avery was New Zealand junior time trial champion in 2005. At the Oceania Championship, he was able to win the road race in the U23 class. The following year he was also the national time trial champion in the U23 class. He also won a stage in the Tour of Southland and the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge . In the final ranking of the UCI Oceania Tour 2006 , Avery took third place. In 2007 he won the New Zealand Cross Country Championship on a mountain bike. In 2009 he finished seventh in the U23 edition of Paris-Roubaix .

In March 2010, Avery won the De Vlaamse Pijl . From August of that year he drove as a stagiaire for the RadioShack team , with which he only stayed until the end of the year. In 2011 he decided a stage of Kreiz Breizh Elites for himself. In 2012 and 2013 he started for the Chinese Champion System Pro Cycling Team . He ended his cycling career at the end of 2013.
