Clive Calder

Clive Calder (born December 13, 1946 in Johannesburg , South Africa ) is a South African entrepreneur and music producer .

Life

Calder has been playing bass guitar from a very early age and began playing in bands in Johannesburg. In 1971 he started his first record company. In 1975 he changed his residence and moved to London. In 1977 he founded the Zomba Label Group . The company Jive Records was founded . In 1996 Calder sold 20 percent of his shares to the German company Bertelsmann , and in 2001 the rest of the shares followed. According to the US Forbes Magazine , Calder is one of the richest Britons. Calder is married with two children and currently resides in the Cayman Islands .
