Clive Johnstone

Sir Clive Charles Carruthers Johnstone (born September 6, 1963 ) is a Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy .

He studied at Shrewsbury School and the University of Durham , where he studied anthropology .

In 1985 he went to the Royal Navy. Among other things, he served two years on the royal yacht Britannia and took part in the handover of Hong Kong with her . He served on HMS Invincible for two more years . In 1999 he became the commander of the frigate Iron Duke . In 2005 he became the commandant of the DropShip Bulwark .

In 2008 he became director of human resources strategy and leadership for the Naval Staff at the UK Department of Defense . In the same year he became senior staff officer at the head of the British Defense Staff . In 2011, Johnstone was promoted to Rear Admiral and appointed Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST), who was also Head of Training for the Royal Navy. In May 2013 he became Deputy Chief of Staff in the Naval Staff. As Vice Admiral, he has been in command of the Allied Maritime Command since October 2015 .

Johnstone was awarded the Order of the Bath and the Order of the British Empire .

He is married and has two daughters (* 1997 and * 1999).
