Clover (clamp)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clover is a four volume manga series from Clamp .

action

The former soldier Ryu Kazuhiko receives another order from the Shogun Kou: he should transport something. The cargo turns out to be the girl Sue. On their journey together they have to fight soldiers and an old adversary of Kazuhikos, Barusu. Kazuhiko soon learns why: Sue is a four-leaf clover, something that cannot exist in this world. The shamrocks are magically gifted children. Their powers were measured and evaluated; Sue, the strongest, is the only four-leaf clover in the world.

This actual story is completed in the first two volumes. The next volumes are about Oruha, Sue's only friend, as well as Gingetsu, Kazuhiko's former boss and his roommate Lan.

Publications

The manga appeared from 1997 to 1998 in the manga magazine Amie at Kodansha , until it was discontinued. After the 4 volumes published by then, Clamp broke off the series. In Germany, Carlsen published the series in 2001.

This manga is very different from Clamp figureheads like X or Magic Knight Rayearth . The drawings are very filigree and very bright; often there is only one (small) panel on a page . In the German edition, the Japanese layout including the dust jacket, color pages and a larger format was retained.

Music video

On August 21, 1999, an anime music video produced by Studio Madhouse was released. Kitarō Kōsaka directed the film . The character design comes from Nobuteru Yūki . Sue got her vote from Maaya Sakamoto .
