Maaya Sakamoto
Maaya Sakamoto ( Japanese 坂 本 真 綾 , Sakamoto Maaya ; born March 31, 1980 in Itabashi , Tokyo ) is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ) and singer.
Her debut was the 1996 voice of Hitomi Kanzaki in the anime series Vision of Escaflowne . The theme song of the series Yakusoku wa Iranai was at the same time their first published single and the beginning of their long-term collaboration with the composer Yōko Kanno .
She took part in the dubbing of other anime, video games and the dubbing of feature films, such as Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight , Kingdom Hearts and Star Wars: Episode I , Episode II and Episode III . She released several albums, which mainly contain compositions by Yōko Kanno, but also worked with other musicians and wrote her own lyrics.
On August 8, 2011, she married the voice actor Ken'ichi Suzumura .
