Club hangover

Club Hangover was a jazz club in San Francisco in the 1940s and 50s, where it was one of the central venues for traditional jazz .

Club Hangover , opened by band leader Doc Dougherty in the late 1940s, was located at 726 Bush Street (near Powell Street) and at that time was one of the most important venues for Dixieland jazz in San Francisco. There occurred u. a. Turk Murphy , Jack Teagarden , Muggsy Spanier and Kid Ory . From 1953 to 1956 (radio) recordings of performances by Red Nichols , Jack Teagarden, Meade Lux Lewis , Muggsy Spanier, Kid Ory, Lee Collins , Joe Sullivan , Lizzy Miles , Donny McDonald , George Lewis , Louis Armstrong ( 1954), Earl Hines , Ralph Sutton, and Teddy Buckner .
