The Club Saltatio Hamburg e. V. is a dance sport club in Hamburg . The club has offers in pair and formation dancing in the fields of standard and Latin as well as popular sports and children's dance .

history

The association was founded on October 5, 1947 as "Northwest German Dance Casino, Club for the Promotion of Ballroom Dancing". On November 28, 1947, it was entered in the register of associations at the Hamburg District Court as “Club Saltatio e. V. "

From 1976 to 1993 the Club Saltatio cooperated with the Hamburg Gymnastics Association from 1816 , the oldest still existing gymnastics club in the world. During the period of cooperation with the Hamburg Turnerschaft from 1816, the club took part in the tournament under the name “Club Saltatio in the Hamburger Turnerschaft from 1816”. In 1992 the name was changed to “Club Saltatio Hamburg e. V. ”At tournaments, the club initially appeared as the“ Club Saltatio Hamburg in the Hamburg gymnastics club from 1816 ”. The two clubs separated on June 30, 1993 for financial reasons and because of different club goals.

Formations

Standard formations

A-team

The standard formation of the Club Saltatio was formed in 1977 from pairs of the TTC Harburg, which was internationally successful until 1975 with several European and world championship titles. The formation danced in the Bundesliga and was third in the German championship from 1978 to 1980. 1981 to 1983 the formation reached the second place of the German championship, 1984 again the third place. In 1982 and 1983 she was vice world champion and in 1983 and 1984 European champion.

In 1984 the formation broke up because there was no offspring. A newly established standard formation was able to achieve fourth place at the German championship in 1985, but the goal of returning to top positions was not achieved. This formation also finally dissolved.

In 2002 the formation of TuS Alstertal , which was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga Standard to the Regionalliga in the 2001/2002 season, was the only standard formation remaining in Hamburg to join Club Saltatio Hamburg.

B team

In 2003 a B-Team was founded in Club Saltatio Hamburg, which first started in the 2004/2005 season with the theme "Mary Poppins" in the Regionalliga North-West Standard. After two more seasons with the theme “ Moulin Rouge ”, the team danced in the seasons 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 to the theme “High Society”, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 to the theme “Espana”. In the 2011/2012 season "Moulin Rouge" was the theme again.

After a two-year break, a B-team from Club Saltation Hamburg entered the Regionalliga Nord Standard again in the 2014/2015 season with the musical theme “Moulin Rouge”. After the team was withdrawn from league operations in the 2015/2016 season, it has been back in the Regionalliga Nord Standard since the 2016/2017 season. The musical theme was initially "Dreamworlds". In the 2018/2019 season the team will dance to “Elvis”.

The coaches of the B-team are Jennifer Wöhncke and Jan Rindelaub.

Latin formation

A-team

In addition to a standard formation in the 1970s and 1980s, Club Saltatio also had a Latin formation that started in the Bundesliga Latin. The greatest success of the formation was fourth place in the German championship in 1984. However, the level of the Bundesliga could not be maintained and the formation rose to the Regionalliga North Latin. In 1990 it was finally decided to dissolve the Latin formation.

In 2004 another Latin formation was founded in Club Saltatio Hamburg. The formation started in the 2006/2007 season for league competitions.

The coaches of the Latin formation are David Jühlke and Tobias Brügmann.

B team

In the 2013/2014 season, a B-team for Club Saltatio Hamburg also competed in league competitions in the North Latin regional league. The musical theme was “straight forward”. After a year break, a B team from Club Saltation Hamburg competed again in the Landesliga Nord, in the 2015/2016 season on the musical theme "For You!" And in the 2016/2017 season on the musical theme "Straight forward II".

The team's coach was Tobias Brügmann.
