Clube Desportivo da Huíla , or CD Huíla for short , is a football club from Lubango , capital of the Huíla Province in Angola .

The CD Huíla welcomes its guests in the Estádio do Ferroviário , which can hold 20,000 spectators , but occasionally moves to the Estádio Nacional da Tundavala .

After the association was originally founded in 1955 under Portuguese colonial administration , and was given up in connection with Angola's independence in 1975, it was re-established on March 7, 1998, from the Angolan army .

The CD Huíla is one of the established clubs in the top division of Angola, the professional league Girabola . After relegations to the second division, the Gira Angola , in 2003 and 2010 , they were promoted again in 2004 and 2012, respectively. The club have not yet won a championship or cup. Participation in the CAF Confederation Cup 2014 can therefore be regarded as the club's greatest success to date. The CD Huíla prevailed against CF Mounana from Gabon in the qualifying round , but then retired after two defeats against the Tunisian Club Athlétique Bizertin .
