Coastal Carolina University

Coastal Carolina University (also CCU is called) an independent public university in the city of Conway in the US state of South Carolina near the tourist destination Myrtle Beach . There are currently 8,360 students enrolled at the university.

history

Coastal Carolina University was originally founded in 1954 as Coastal Carolina Junior College . In the 1970s it was transformed into a four-year college , but as part of the University of South Carolina . In 1993 , Coastal Carolina University became an independent university.

Sports

The CCU sports teams are the Chanticleers . The college is a member of the Sun Belt Conference and Big South Conference . In 2012 and 2013 , the soccer team won the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). In 2016, the CCU baseball team won the College World Series (NCAA baseball championship).
