The Coblentz Peak is a 1,200 m high mountain at the Graham Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises on the north side of the head end of Holtedahl Bay .
Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1956 to 1957 served the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey for a mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountain in 1959 after the American physicist William Coblentz (1873-1962) from the United States National Bureau of Standards , whose work made decisive contributions to the improvement of snow goggles with tinted lenses.
