CodeLite is a free , open source and platform-independent development environment for C / C ++ , PHP and JavaScript .

Emergence

In August 2006, Eran Ifrah started working on CodeLite. His first goal was to develop an auto-completion library based on Ctags , SQLite and a Yacc parser that can be used by other development environments. The result was a demonstration software called LiteEditor to show the functions. As time went on, its capabilities continued to grow, and eventually the editor became a full development environment.

properties

CodeLite is developed exclusively using free software and is based on the free library wxWidgets . It is not tied to a specific compiler and offers, among other things, project management, auto-completion , restructuring , syntax highlighting , code folding , support for Subversion and integration of the GNU debugger . In addition, CodeLite can be expanded using plugins.

The source text editor is based on Scintilla .
