CodeWarrior

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The CodeWarrior computer program is an integrated development environment (IDE) from Freescale , a former subsidiary of Motorola . CodeWarrior was originally developed by Metrowerks, which was bought by Motorola and Freescale in 1999. CodeWarrior can be used to create software for a wide range of applications from embedded systems to desktop applications .

The CodeWarrior offers the possibility to write programs in four different programming languages ( Java , C , C ++ and Pascal ) with one and the same development environment . These can then be compiled for 11 different platforms ( Windows 95 / NT , Mac OS , Mac OS X , BeOS , PlayStation , Palm Pilot, etc.) . CodeWarrior is available for the MacOS, BeOS and Windows 95 / NT operating systems.

The large selection of platforms is bought at the price of a lack of specialization: CodeWarrior does not have its own program section for creating user interfaces ( GUI builders), since the GUIs of the platforms are all different. The CodeWarrior was also a popular development tool for Macintosh - applications . Since CodeWarrior cannot generate Intel Macintosh programs, developers will have to rely on alternatives such as Xcode in the future .
