The Codex Regius ( Gregory-Aland no. L e or 019 ; von Soden ε 56) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament , which is dated to the 8th century. The handwriting is incomplete.
description
It consists of the four Gospels on 257 sheets of parchment, but the codex is missing some parts of the Gospels ( Matt 4.22-5.14; 28.17-20; Mark 10.16-30; 15.2-20; John 21, 15-25). The parchment is coarse and thick. The format is 23.5 cm × 17 cm, the text is in 2 columns of 25 lines. The capital uncial letters have accents as well as spiritus asper and lenis .
The codex is kept in the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Gr. 62) in Paris .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type and is assigned to Category II .
The pericope John 7,53-8,11 is missing.
