Codex Rubricarum

The Codex Rubricarum is one of Pope Pius XII. started and by Pope John XXIII. 1960 published collection of liturgical regulations for the celebration of Mass and the Divine Office of the Roman Rite . The Codex Rubricarum replaced the rubrics of Popes Pius V to Pius X contained in older editions of the Missale Romanum and the Breviarium Romanum , and unified, clarified and expanded the liturgical legislation of the preceding decades. It also served as a working basis for the liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council .
