The Colbeck Basin is a small lake basin off the eastern edge of the Ross Ice Shelf in the Antarctic Ross Sea .

The designation recognized by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF) in August 1988 was based on that of Cape Colbeck . Its namesake is William Colbeck (1871-1930), commander of the rescue ship Morning on the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
