Colette Pujol
Colette Pujol (born July 5, 1913 in São Paulo , Brazil , † July 9, 1999 in São Paulo) was a Brazilian painter , draftsman and teacher.
life and work
Pujol was the daughter of the architect Hipólito Gustavo Pujol and began painting with Georges Pavec in Paris in 1925 . From 1937 to 1942 she studied drawing in São Paulo with Lucília Fraga (1895–1979) and painting with Antonio Rocco (1880–1944). In 1942 she was a student at the Escola de Belas Artes da Bahia in Salvador with Presciliano Silva (1883-1965) and in 1945 she taught drawing and painting at the Escola de Belas Artes de São Paulo , today the Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo . From 1946 to 1947 she completed her art studies in Paris at the École des Beaux Arts and the Académie Julian with a grant from the French government . She was a student of Emmanuel Fougerat , Lucien Jonas and Désirée Lucas .
Pujol returned to Brazil in 1949 and taught drawing and painting. In 1959 she became an art teacher in the Associação Paulista de Belas Artes in São Paulo.
