Colin Humphrey Felton Ellis, 6th Baron Seaford (born April 19, 1946 in Sussex ) is a British peer and politician .

life and career

Ellis was born on April 19, 1946 as the son of Major William Felton Ellis (1912-1978) and Edwina Reginald Bond († 1977). He has an older sister.

Ellis was 1968-1970 Resident Agent of Ely Lodge Enniskillen . From 1970 to 1993 he worked as a farmer in Dorset , where he was director of Blackmore Farms from 1982 to 1992 . He has been a farmer in Wiltshire since 1993 .

He is secretary of the British Bison Association and a member of various committees ( Committee ). He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors .

He is a member of the Hereditary Peerage Association . He mentions shooting , fishing and writing poetry as his hobbies .

Membership in the House of Lords

At the death of his third uncle John Scott-Ellis, 9th Baron Howard de Walden on July 9, 1999, he inherited the title of Baron Seaford . On October 11, 1999, he first took his seat in the House of Lords . He gave his inaugural address on October 14, 1999.

In written answers ( Written Answers ), he spoke in Parliament several times in November. Then on November 11, 1999, its membership ended by the House of Lords Act 1999 . He did not run for the election to one of the remaining seats.

It is recorded in the Register of Hereditary Peers , which are available for by-election.

family

Ellis married Susan Magill, daughter of RH Makgill, on January 2, 1971. They divorced in 1992. They have two sons and two daughters together. His second marriage has been to Penelope Mary Bastin since 1993.
