Colin Morgan (judoka)

Colin Morgan (born November 12, 1973 in Calgary ) is a former Canadian judoka .

Athletic career

The 1.78 m tall Colin Morgan fought until 1997 in the light middleweight division, the weight class up to 78 kilograms. In 1993 he was Canadian champion. In March 1995 the Pan American Games 1995 took place in Mar del Plata . Morgan won a bronze medal. At the Canadian Championships in 1995 he was second behind Maxim Roberge . In 1996 he finished third at the Canadian Championships. Nevertheless, he was part of the Canadian squad at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . After a bye in the first round he lost his first fight against the Georgian Warlam Liparteliani after 1:57 minutes.

Colin Morgan's twin brother Keith competed four times as a judoka in the Olympics. At the Canadian Championships in 1998 the brothers faced each other in the middleweight finals, Keith Morgan won.
