Anthony Edwards (born August 5,  2001 in Atlanta ) is an American basketball player .

career

Edwards was a youth player at Therrell High School in his native Atlanta, Georgia , before moving to Holy Spirit Preparatory School in January 2017. In February 2019, he announced his decision to play at the University of Georgia from the 2019-20 season . The University of Kentucky and Florida State University were among the colleges that sought his service . He justified his decision, among other things, with the fact that Georgia's head coach Tom Crean used to be two of his favorite players, Dwyane Wade and Victor Oladipo, have looked after. Edward's father nicknamed him “Ant-Man” (ant man) when he was three years old. In several previews of the NBA's June 2020 draft process , Edwards is listed as a contender for first place.
