Colin Stanley Gum (born June 4, 1924 , † April 29, 1960 in Zermatt ) was an Australian astronomer who cataloged emission nebulae from the southern celestial sphere with a wide-field camera.

Gum published a study in 1955 entitled A study of diffuse southern H-alpha nebulae , which concerned a nebula that was subsequently named Gum Nebula after him . Gum was part of Frank John Kerr and Gart Westerhout's team , who precisely determined the so-called HI line for 21 cm radio radiation in space.

The moon crater Gum was also named after him.
