Part of the township is also an area called Steelesville. The name is connected on the one hand with the local school district , which was formed by the local single-class school, and on the other hand with the Steelesville cemetery. The Steelesville Cemetery belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Gethsemane Church Congregation Dassel and has been run by a non-profit organization since 1970.

Agricultural immigrants from Sweden settled here in the 1860s . In 1873 they organized an Evangelical Church in Steelesville. They also received a piece of land as a gift. In 1877 a small church was placed there. In 1878 a new church was built in Dassel. Although the parish now belonged to Dassel, it was agreed to keep the Steeleville cemetery. The remaining small church in Steelesville was sold to a farmer in 1908 and then used as a barn.
