Colombo Cricket Club

The Colombo Cricket Club Ground is a cricket stadium in Maitland Crescent , Colombo , Sri Lanka .

Capacity and infrastructure

The stadium's capacity today is 6,000. It is in close proximity to two other cricket stadiums, the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground and the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground . The two wicket ends are the Press Box End and the Pavilion End .

International cricket

The first test match at this stadium took place in March 1984 between Sri Lanka and New Zealand . Since then, it has been used for one more test game each on the tours of Pakistan in the 1985/86 season and New Zealand in the 1987 season . Since then, no further international encounters have taken place here, but it is partly used to host tour matches.

National cricket

The stadium is the home of the Colombo Cricket Club and is used by the latter in the national championships. The first first-class game took place here in 1927.
