Career
society
Popović started his career at Blacktown City FC . For the 2013/14 season he moved to Italy in the youth team of Lazio Rome . For the 2015/16 season he moved to Germany to the A-Juniors of TSV Havelse . In August 2015 he was against the Goslarer SC 08 for the first time in the squad of the first team of Havelse. He made his debut for this in the regional league in November 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Deniz Undav on the 18th matchday of that season against BSV Rehden in the 61st minute . In that game, he also scored his first regional league with the goal to make it 1-1.
After four appearances for Havelse, he moved to 1. FC Köln in January 2016 , for whose second team, which is also in the fourth class, he should be used. By the end of the season he came to six missions for Cologne II, in which he remained without a hit. In the 2016/17 season, Popović did not score a goal for Köln II in 15 season appearances. For the 2017/18 season he moved to the second team of Eintracht Braunschweig , where he received a contract that ran until June 2019. For Braunschweig II he completed 29 regional league games that season and scored three goals. With Braunschweig II, however, he had to relegate to the end of the season from the regional league, whereupon he left the club.
After half a year without a club, he moved to the Austrian second division club SV Lafnitz in January 2019 . In January 2019, however, he tore his cruciate ligament during training and was out for almost a year. In November 2019 he finally made his debut in the 2nd division when he came on as a substitute for Christoph Gschiel in the 82nd minute on the 16th matchday of the 2019/20 season against SC Austria Lustenau . This was his only mission for the Styrians. He left the club after the 2019/20 season.
National team
Popović played for the Australian U-23 team from 2017 . With this he also took part in the Asian Cup in 2018 , where he was eliminated with Australia as third in Group D in the preliminary round. Popović was used in all three games in his country.
