Colombo Lighthouse , occasionally Colombo Galbokka Lighthouse ( Sinhala කොලඹ ගල්බොක්ක ප්‍රදීපාගාරය ), is a lighthouse ( English Lighthouse ) in Colombo , the capital of Sri Lanka .

The almost 15 m high stone round tower was built in 1952 on Galbokka Point, the remains of an old fort . The construction on the waterfront of Colombo became necessary because the Old Clock Tower Lighthouse in the city center was increasingly being hidden by neighboring buildings.

The new beacon has a fire height of 26  m and shows as an identifier a group of three white flashes with a return of ten seconds (Fl (3) W.10s). For better recognition as a landmark , the tower on the lake side is painted black and white.
