The Color 40 Signum 67-5201 was the last color television to be developed and mass-produced in the GDR .

It was built by the state- owned company Fernsehgerätewerk Staßfurt , an RFT company , and launched on October 7, 1989 on the fortieth anniversary of the republic . Apart from its name, the Color 40 had nothing in common with the similarly named Color 20 device .

The first version of the devices had two loudspeakers with an output power of 8 watts, a cable tuner for the PAL and Secam standards , remote control and a 67 cm picture tube . Connections were available for tape or amplifiers as well as a SCART socket with RGB signals . The export version had stereo sound and teletext . The device had a wooden housing, dimensions of 787 mm × 545 mm × 470 mm and a weight of 37 kg.
