Columban Spahr
Columban Spahr OCist (born June 25, 1909 in Konstanz , † April 14, 2000 in the Abbey of Mehrerau ) was a German Cistercian monk and church historian .
Life
The first son of the innkeeper couple Franz Xaver Spahr and Maria geb. Zinsmaier became a novice in Mehrerau on October 7, 1928. After his ordination on June 29, 1934, he was subprior and archivist and taught history and geography until his retirement in 1979. In 1965, Gebhard Spahr's brother took over the editing of the Cistercian Chronicle .
