The Column Rock ( English for 'pillar rock'; in Argentina Roca Faro , Spanish for 'lighthouse rock' ) is a cliff off the north coast of the Trinity Peninsula in the north of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 1.5 km north of Gourdin Island .
The rock got its descriptive name from participants in an Argentine Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1952 to 1953 and on August 12, 1964 by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee .
