com! The Computer-Magazin was a German computer magazine that was published from 1995 to 2014 by the Neue Mediengesellschaft Ulm publishing house based in Ulm . The videotext magazine , which appeared in 1980, is the predecessor magazine . Since it was discontinued in August 2014, " com! Professional for IT decision-makers " has appeared as a successor magazine with an accompanying website aimed at professional users and all other computer-interested users in the publishing house belonging to the Ebner Media Group in Ulm.

Until July 2014 the magazine appeared in the following versions:

  • Pocket edition ( DIN A5 ) without data carrier
  • A cheap version without a data carrier
  • A version with CD-ROM
  • A version with DVD-9 (dual-layer DVD)
  • A premium version with 2 DVDs

A forerunner was founded in 1980 as "bildschirmtext magazin". The free customer magazine for BTX customers later became an online program guide. Since 2004 com! The computer magazine for technically interested PC users and provided them with workshops, tests and numerous tips & tricks. In July 2014, com! The computer magazine in favor of com! professional for IT decision-makers with different content for a different target group.

editorial staff

The editorial office was in Munich. To the editors of com! The computer magazine belonged to Andreas Dumont, Oliver Ehm, Andreas Th. Fischer, Stefan Kuhn, Mark Lubkowitz, Konstantin Pfliegl, Johann Scheuerer and Johann Sedlbauer.

The editors-in-chief were: Herbert Grab, Guido Hloch, Martin Konitzer, Helmut Achatz, Horst Ohligschläger, Roland Bischoff, Günter Götz.

Circulation statistics

In the fourth quarter of 2012, the average circulation according to IVW was 128,856 copies. That is 77,803 copies per issue less (-37.65%) than in the same quarter of the previous year. The number of subscribers fell within a year by 10,735 subscribers to 55,147 per issue (–16.29%); thus around 42.8% of readers subscribed to the magazine.
