Origin and description
The Combai, the Indian bear dog, is native to southern India and has also been used to hunt wild boar, water buffalo and deer since the ninth century. It is similar to the Rajapalayam but is smaller and therefore appears heavier and more robust. Its fur is short, reddish in color, with a black eel line . The greyhound-length head has drooping ears and a black mask.
Essence and use
In addition to its use as a hunting dog, this agile, lively dog also finds its place as a guard dog, where it does its job better than the Rajapalayam.
