SynGate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SynGate was originally an internet fanzine that specialized in the presentation of electronic music (EM), preferably of the Berlin School style . SynGate (www.syngate.net) was founded by Lothar Lubitz on July 1st, 2001. He handed over SynGate on September 1st, 2011 to Kilian Schloemp-Uelhoff from Frankenau in North Hesse.

The enthusiasm and commitment combined with the increasing acceptance in the EM scene also led to the establishment of the record label "SynGate Records" on October 1st, 2004 , which specializes in the publication of electronic music on CD-R. Sabine Lubitz was the owner until August 2011, and Kilian Schloemp took over SynGate Records in September 2011. The label is based in Frankenau in Northern Hesse on the edge of the natural world heritage of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park . The SynGate Records program includes productions by second generation musicians from the Berlin School such as Frank Klare, Rainbow Serpent , Pyramid Peak or current artists such as Johan Tronestam, Bouvetøya, DASK or Colin Rayment.

SynGate has also made a name for itself with the organization of the German electronic music festival "Satzvey Castle", which has been held annually since 2002, in the ambience of Satzvey Castle in the Eifel region. These festivals were organized until 2012 under the direction of Lothar Lubitz from Mechernich . In January 2013 the end of the festival was announced.

From around 2013, Kilian Schloemp followed the need of the electronic music fan base to also record productions at SynGate that no longer necessarily follow the origins of the Berlin school, although synthesizers, sequencers, analog and digital sound generators are still the focus. To this end, the label operator founded two sub-labels:

Ambient and experimental electronic compositions can be found at SynGate under the sub-label " syngate-luna ". Another sub-label serves the world of epic, orchestral or harmonic electronic music such as the waves of the sea, sometimes gentle and dreamy, then wild and stormy: SynGate-Wave
