Moonbooter (own name: moonbooter ) is a German music project from Olef (Schleiden) in the Eifel . Behind it is the musician, composer and producer Bernd Scholl (* 1971).

Moonbooter's music style is a mixture of danceable and relaxing electronic music . Bernd Scholl mixes many different styles with each other and thus creates a trance-like sound that also contains elements of the classic EM and the Berlin school .

history

With the appearance of the first affordable PC, the Commodore C-64, Bernd Scholl programmed his first rhythms and pieces of music on the PC. He continued this tradition over the years and it became an integral part of his musical life and work.

As early as the 80s he produced his first instrumental pieces in the style of New Age paired with elements of the then current house and acid music. He was significantly influenced by artists like Jean Michel Jarre on the one hand and groups like Depeche Mode on the other. First live appearances and gigs followed. In the early 1990s, his music was mainly influenced by the emerging trance and techno and he successfully produced mixes that were also broadcast on the radio. Bernd also worked as a DJ. The first CD album Tek-No / ew-Age was made in 1994, but was never released.

In 2005 his first published album Teralogica appeared on the SynGate label , which can be seen as a mixture of traditional EM, New Age and Pop. In 2005, two more albums, Devided and Orbit number 2, followed, as well as a DVD edition of the album Orbit number 2 in surround sound and historical and modern space recordings from 5 decades of NASA as a visual supplement. Also in 2005 a first concert under the name Moonbooter, created in 2004, followed as the opener of the SynGate Festival for Electronic Music at Satzvey Castle . Other successful concerts, including at the Oberhausen Gasometer, the Electronic Circus Project, the Hagen Planetary Project, the Bochum Planetarium or the Maximum Forum of the Rex Theater in Wuppertal followed.

At the same time, Bernd Scholl began his work as a writer for various music magazines. There he regularly writes test reports, workshops, tutorials and interviews in the field of PC and music.

In April 2007, Bernd Scholl founded his own label MellowJet Records , which in addition to himself includes other, partly international artists, including Wellenfeld, Bernd Kistenmacher , Harald Grosskopf, Uwe Reckzeh, Elektrohandel, Exposed, Erez Yaary, MaEasy, Faber, Back to the Moon, Rene Splinter or Carboneids.

Bernd Scholl (moonbooter) should not be confused with the electronics musician Bernd Scholl from Flörsheim am Main. It is just a matter of identical names.
