Otarion
Otarion is a German music project in the field of electronic music or synthesizer music . Behind this is the Siegen composer Rainer Klein (* 1961 ).
Klein's first activities in the field of electronic music go back to the 1970s, when he tried to contribute elements of electronics as a member of a school band. Later, after a long period of abstinence, he returned to synthesizers and making music in the early 1990s.
After the composer Detlef Keller , who was already known in the EM scene at the time, became aware of Otarion's music in the mid-1990s , contact with Mario Schönwälder's Manikin label came about, so that in 1997 the first CD ( Let there be light ) was produced on this label . In the years that followed, there were not only other CD releases, but also live performances, including the annual "Klang-Raum-Wort" event with Detlef Keller, Mario Schönwälder and Arcanum .
Otarion's musical style is diverse, mostly melodic and with influences from the Berlin school .
