Erik Seifert (* 1969) is a German sound engineer, sound designer, composer and musician in the field of electronic music .

Life

After his training as a sound MAZ technician from 1988 to 1990 and a year in the media center of the Bundeswehr, he worked as a sound technician first at WDR and since 1992 as a freelancer ( sound engineer ) at various broadcasters and production companies with his own recording and production studio Pleasure sound .

He was enthusiastic about electronic music at an early age, starting with Jean-Michel Jarres Oxygene and Tangerine Dreams Thief , and with an intense collecting enthusiasm in the 80s from artists such as Tim Blake , Vangelis and Patrick O'Hearn . With the first self-earned money he bought a Casio keyboard and had his first steps together with a friend, where they played the keyboard with four hands and recorded it on tape. In the following years he acquired real synthesizers like the Alpha Juno 1 and the sampler S-50. Through a contact with Lambert Ringlage , his recordings reached Lothar Lubitz , on whose label SynGate Erik's first album Thrust Avis was released in 2004.

His musical style can be described as atmospheric electronics, borrowing from spherical ambient and lounge music with the integration of lively sequences and rhythmic elements. A special feature of his productions is their tonal precision and clarity, thanks to his professional experience as a sound engineer and sound designer.

Seifert lives in Odenthal .
