laut.de

The e-zine Laut.de rated Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1 with four out of a possible five points. From the point of view of the editor Yannik Gölz, the album documents “ an unrestrained self-destruction trip over an unfortunately quite short running time, which instead of being sorry ends in a reflected cynicism without reducing the musical energy. “Lil Peep is“ one of the exciting phenomena of the modern hip hop scene. "He doesn't act as a classic rapper ", but sings " in the typical post-punk or indie manner " and sprinkles " here and there a few hip hop accents ". With Benz Truck, the album begins with “ an uncompromising banger and a clear display of masculine and sexual dominance. “In the further course“ more and more fragile moments crystallize, which bring the vulnerability and fear of the protagonist to the fore. “Here, Lil Peep proves“ once again that she has a unique knack for the casual staging and deconstruction of the male perspective on love, relationships, sexuality and violence. "
