The Comitee Düsseldorfer Carneval eV (CC) is the umbrella organization and representation of the interests of around 70 carnival associations with around 8,000 members that are active in the Düsseldorf Carnival .

organization

The CC consists of 15 volunteers - an executive board with five members and an extended board with ten members who are elected by the member associations for three years each.

tasks

The festival committee, founded in 1825, sees its main task in maintaining the traditions and customs of the Düsseldorf Carnival. The CC selects the prince and his companion, the Venetia, and the Hoppeditz . In addition, the CC is planning the major Düsseldorf carnival events such as the Hoppeditz awakening on November 11, the television session in the First , the parade on the Königsallee on Sunday, the Rose Monday procession or the foolish tattoo on Carnival Tuesday. Last but not least, the CC also selects the motto of the respective carnival session. The CC operates a carnival museum at its headquarters, the House of Carnival in Düsseldorf's old town . As the interest group for the majority of the Düsseldorf carnival societies and the organizer of numerous high-profile events, the Düsseldorf Carneval Committee has a decisive influence on the appearance of the Düsseldorf Carnival.
