Como la flor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Como la flor ( Spanish for Like the Flower ) is a song by the singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez , which was written at the end of 1991 by her brother AB Quintanilla in collaboration with Pete Astudillo, another member of Selena's band Los Dinos , during a tour. The song was first released on the 1992 album Entre a Mi Mundo and was usually the song that opened or ended a concert. It was also the song with which Selena ended her last concert at the Astrodome in Houston , Texas on February 26, 1995 , and thus the last song she sang live on stage.

The song tells the story of a woman who breaks up with her boyfriend after starting a new relationship. Looking back, she looks at her past love with the wilting of the flower that he had once given her so lovingly. Below is the corresponding passage from the song:

Spanish German translation

Como la flor
Con tanto amor me diste tú
Se marchitó
Me marcho hoy
Yo sé perder
Pero, ay, cómo me duele.

As the flower that
you gave me with so much love
withered,
I leave you today.
I know that I've lost
and it hurts so bad.
