The Companhia Nacional de Navegação Aérea (CNNA) was a Brazilian aviation company that dealt with the transport of air cargo and passengers, as well as the development and production of aircraft.

history

At the 1st National Aviation Congress in Brazil in 1934, Antonio Guedes Muniz suggested producing aircraft in their own country instead of just importing them. In 1935 Henrique Lage founded the Companhia Nacional de Navegação Aérea (CNNA). The company designed and produced several types of aircraft until operations ceased in 1951. The company's greatest successes were the M-7, M-9, HL-1, and HL-6, which the Brazilian government acquired for the country's aero clubs and air force.
