The Muniz M-9 was a trainer aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer Companhia Nacional de Navegação Aérea .

History and construction

The M-9 was a two-seat trainer aircraft from before World War II . It was designed under the direction of the Brazilian Air Force Officer Antonio Guedes Muniz as a further development of the Muniz M-7 and used as an advanced trainer aircraft. The guyed biplane had an open cockpit in tandem and a tail wheel landing gear. The fuselage and the wings were covered with fabric. The first flight took place in 1937. The aircraft was manufactured by the Companhia Nacional de Navegação Aérea . Twenty planes went to the Brazilian Air Force, the rest to Argentina and Paraguay.
