Component Library for Cross Platform Development

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Component Library for Cross Platform Development ( CLX for short ) is, like the VCL , a component library .

The CLX is available for the Delphi (for Windows ) and Kylix (for Linux ) development environments from Embarcadero Technologies (formerly Borland ).

With these cross-platform components, applications can be created which can be compiled with Kylix as well as Delphi for the respective operating system and can be executed independently. This means that both a native Linux / X11 and Windows application can be generated from the same source code .

Since Kylix has been discontinued, the CLX is no longer being developed. This is also no longer included in newer Delphi versions.
